Tara Vlasimsky is the System Director of Ambulatory Pharmacy for Intermountain Health where she oversees primary care and specialty clinical pharmacy services, medication assistance, population health, prior authorization, refill authorization, and other virtual pharmacy services across Intermountain’s six states. Tara’s professional passions are expanding patient access to health care through growth of clinical pharmacy services with an emphasis on developing innovative models of care across disciplines and practice settings. Prior to becoming a pharmacist, Tara worked for ten years as a healthcare business consultant working with hospitals, health plans, and technology startups. She left consulting to earn her Pharm.D. from the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy. Tara currently serves on the ASHP Commission on Affiliate Relations and previously served on the ASHP Council on Pharmacy Management and as a Colorado ASHP Delegate. Tara is past Chair of the Colorado Academy of Health-System Pharmacists and served on the Colorado Pharmacists Society Board. She has been recognized as the 2021 Colorado Pharmacist of the Year and the 2011 Colorado Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year, and she received recognition as a Fellow of ASHP in 2022.
